Registered Nurses provide basic and advanced nursing care and education for patients, families and members of the community.
The RN job description includes responsibility for recording a patient’s medical history and current symptoms, assessing the patient, performing diagnostic tests, administering treatments, and maintaining IV lines. The Registered Nurse is responsible for establishing the plan of care, assigning tasks to LPN’s and delegating to unlicensed assistive personnel.

To become a Registered Nurse, you must take the required course work to earn an Associate Degree in Nursing. Upon successfully completing the education, you are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam, and upon passing, can become a Registered Nurse.
The 1+1 program at Hondros College allows you to earn your Associate Degree in Nursing and your Registered Nurse license in just 2 1/2 years. This is the same license that you will earn in a traditional 4 year program.
The Associate Degree in Nursing program is offered at the Westerville, Fairborn, and West Chester campuses.
It will be offered at the Cleveland campus in 2012.
