Careers in Nursing

Imagine a career where you help improve the lives of your patients and their families. Perhaps you have had a personal experience with a loved one, and you know what a difference a caring nurse can make to the patient and his/her family.

As a nurse, you will examine patients and record medical histories, help perform diagnostic tests and administer treatments and medications. You will also ensure your patients receive the best care and help with follow-up rehabilitation and education.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that jobs for nurses will grow at a faster than average pace from 2001-2018.

To become a nurse, you must complete required education and pass the NCLEX-PN or NCLEX-RN exam. Hondros College offers a 1+1 nursing program that allows you to become an LPN in 4 quarters, or an RN in 10 quarters. Currently licensed LPN's can complete the LPN to RN bridge program in 6 quarters.
